Start-up businesses, growing small companies and sole traders are being urged to find out more about office units, meeting room hire and hot desking at Staffordshire County Council’s enterprise centres.
The thriving centres offer flexible tenancies on office units, meaning businesses are not tied into long-term agreements, with on-site support teams and the opportunity to network with other businesses.
Staffordshire’s latest enterprise centre opened at Stafford’s Shire Hall in 2022 and is the first to offer the hot desking facility, with people able to book for as long as they like. The facility has recently been expanded over another floor. It could soon be rolled out to the other centres across the county with office units.
Businesses which use the hot desks or office units can also register their address at Shire Hall, rather than using a home address. Those using Lymedale Enterprise Centre in Newcastle can do the same.
Meeting rooms are also available to hire at Shire Hall, giving people a professional setting and in a convenient central location.
All of the county’s enterprise centres offer reception facilities, parking (other than Shire Hall), meeting areas, networking opportunities and business advice and support from the on-site teams.

Shire Hall Business Centre is located to the rear of the historic building in the area which once housed the town’s library. The centre opened after an extensive £2million fit out, blending the latest office facilities with heritage building features.

While the hot desking facilities are currently only available at Shire Hall at the moment, we’re looking at expanding the offer to other centres.

The Shire Hall Business Centre complements county council plans to repurpose and redevelop town centre land occupied by vacant buildings in the Eastgate area. Stafford Borough Council has had a £20million government investment in its station gateway project confirmed, regenerating the wider area around the railway station. It is also implementing its Future High Streets programme and carried out the recent Market Square refurbishment.
