A £270,000 highways scheme to improve a route outside the former National Brewery Centre in Burton has been completed.
The work involved reconstructing the road from Brewers Close junction on the A511 Horninglow Street to the entrance of the former National Brewery Centre on Guild Street.
Staffordshire County Council’s highways crews additionally replaced damaged drainage systems, repaired kerbs and undertook minor footway patching along the route.
This scheme, which started in July, saw highways crews work through the night for over two weeks to ensure minimum disruption to the local community.
Mark Deaville, Staffordshire County Council’s cabinet member for strategic highways, said:
“It is fantastic to see another well-used road improved. It is testament to how hard our highways crews work - day and night - to make everyone’s journeys smoother and safer.
“I hope, with the new surface, Burton’s road users will notice a real difference when travelling along this route.
“We understand that good roads are important to keep Staffordshire connected and on the move. This is why we are investing an extra £50 million in highways over the next three years.”
