Palliative and End of Life care training
A range of free Palliative & End of Life care training is available for both registered and non-registered staff. All sessions comply with national guidance.
This training is delivered virtually via Microsoft Teams and is commissioned by the Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust, Palliative & End of Life team.

End of Life Education for Care Agencies
This training is suitable for Care Support Workers working for community care agencies.
Training to enable staff to deliver holistic care at end of life.
Assessment & Care Planning in Palliative & End of Life Care
Training to enable staff to be able to carry out holistic assessment and complete individualised care plans for palliative & End of Life patients.
These sessions are suitable for Registered Nurses or Allied Professionals and will support staff in identifying key areas for care.
Advance Care Planning
Develop knowledge and skills about different types of Advance Care Plans (ACP’s)
Registered general nurses working within the community or community hospitals. Allied health care professionals.
Difficult Conversations
Develop knowledge and skills around difficult conversations and gain a clear understanding of the professional, legal and ethical framework which underpins practice.

Care After Death (Previously Verification of Death)
To develop knowledge and skills in relation to Care after Death including the Non-Medical Verification of Death procedure.
Registered nurses and allied health professionals working within the community or community hospitals.
Last Days of Life
Session to develop knowledge and skills in the clinical care of adults during the last days of life.
Registered general nurses working within the community or community hospitals. Allied health care professionals.
Introduction to ReSPECT & Advance Care Planning
ReSPECT provides health and care professionals a written summary of recommendations to help them to make immediate.
Suitable for all clinically facing staff.
Responding to Distress - Communication Skills
Session to evaluate and develop knowledge and skills in recognising and responding to emotional / distressed individuals.
Suitable for all health and social care staff who need to be able to use essential communication skills of listening and responding.
