By employing a young person who has been in care you can:

  • have access to a talent pool of young people who can grow your business and fill skills gaps
  • contribute to your company’s social value, diversity and inclusion activities
  • boost your potential to win procurement tenders; many of which are weighted towards businesses evidencing local social value activities
  • work with people that have been in care and have independence, resilience and adaptability.

We’ll help you by:

  • supporting you to find the right care leaver for your business through our fully-funded and expert recruitment service Staffordshire Jobs and Careers
  • supporting you to find any funding available to support your new recruit. You may wish to consider employing them as an apprentice and take advantage of national funding, for example.
  • publicly awarding you the Gold ‘Care Leavers Quality Mark’ and accreditation to the Care Leavers Covenant; a sign of commitment to local people, local care leavers and the local economy.
