Support for your family
All families need help from time to time and in Staffordshire we are keen to offer our help and support before any issues escalate. We have various support available to all our families which you can view below.
Alternatively, pop into your local Family Hub and speak to our teams on site, where they can help you get the right support for you, and your family.
Staffordshire Support and Outreach Service
Do you need a little help to get your family back on track? Need some help with parenting skills, or is your child displaying negative behaviour and you're not sure how to handle? Are you struggling to keep your child safe and just need some advice on how to make changes or set boundaries? Our family support will support you with any issues you're currently facing and we give you the tools to empower you to ensure your family remain happy, healthy and secure!
Once referred, a member of the team will be in touch to chat about the issues you're facing and plan a way forward to help! The team are supportive, friendly and will ensure you're getting the right help at the right time, in the right place.

Family Hubs Groupwork
We understand that parenting can be hard at times and children don’t come with an instruction manual. This is why your Family Hubs have a team of understanding Family Hub Coaches who deliver Free Family Learning Courses across the county.

Your Family Practitioner Service - Early Help Team
The Family Practitioner Service offer support for families who may be facing multiple or complex difficulties. Family Practitioners are able to provide 1:1 support for children and young people. They can also help parents and carers with difficulties they may be having, which are affecting family life.

This service is a telephone enquiry service that residents can use to report a concern around a child or young person.

Family Action - Familyline
Trained volunteers on hand to discuss any emotional support and practical guidance you may need in family life. Supporting adult members via telephone, text, email and webchat.

Online courses available for new parents, learning to cope with stress and conflict within the family.

Action For Children - Parent Talk
Parenting advice on all topics including early parenting, home and family life, to feelings and behaviour. Parent talk also have a live chat with a parenting coach where you can ask any questions.

Cafcass
Advice and support for families who are involved in the family court, offering advice and support to guide you through these difficult times.
Cafcass advises the family courts about the welfare of children and what is in their best interests.

Sexual Abuse and Rape Advice Centre - SARAC
A charity based in Staffordshire who provide trauma informed support to anyone aged 11 and over who has been affected by rape and/or sexual abuse at any time in their lives.

SHOUT
Support in a crisis. Free text service for anyone in crisis, anywhere. This charity is run by a team of trained volunteers who will support you and help you think more clearly and support with the next steps to feeling better.
