Nursery age admissions

How do I apply for a nursery school place?

We no longer administer the application process for nursery. For information on how to apply, please contact your preferred setting directly.

How do I choose a nursery school?

Please see the choosing a nursery school page for information.

Some families are eligible for a total of 30 hours early years funding. To enquire whether your preferred nursery works in partnership with any other provider(s) to provide 30 hours of early years education please contact the nursery directly.

There are many settings available that offer early years educations for 3 and 4-year-olds such as:

  • private and voluntary day nurseries

  • independent schools

  • playgroups

These may offer free early education places. Some of them may be based at a school and may be run by the school governors or by a private provider.

You can find details of providers in your local area by visiting the Staffordshire family services directory.
