Beginners Digital Skills
Do you want to develop basic computer skills to enable you to use online searches and shopping sites, as well as government sites for public services? Our Beginners Digital courses are designed for people who are new to computing and would like to start developing skills for everyday use, volunteering and employment. Topics include learning how to create, edit and save different types of files such as documents, images and videos. Our progression courses Digital Skills and More Digital Skills build further on the skills and knowledge you will have already gained.
These courses are free of charge and are designed for learners who need to develop the confidence to progress on to qualification courses.
Digital Functional Skills
This course is specifically designed for adults, to develop the digital skills and knowledge needed to benefit their personal lives and employment opportunities. These qualifications support the development of key digital skills:
- Using various devices
- Creating and editing digital media
- Using technology to communicate
- Buying and transacting online
- Staying safe and secure, when using technology.
Courses are offered at Entry Level 3 and Level 1.
Course Costs
Qualification courses are free of charge for Staffordshire residents aged 19 or over, who have a legal right of residence in the UK and do not already have digital qualifications at this level.
Entry requirements
You will meet with a tutor to have a short discussion to find out which course is be best for you. The tutor will discuss your level of learning and how you can progress.
You must be able to attend all sessions to enable you to progress and achieve.
You will need to be a Staffordshire resident aged 19+ and have a legal right to be a resident in the UK.
