Are you activities wise? It's okay to C.H.E.C.K.

Posted on Wednesday 25th July 2018

There are lots of great activities for your kids taking place across Staffordshire this summer.

The vast majority of people leading these activities will have your child’s best interest at heart and give their time because they believe in how much young people can develop through activities held outside of school.

But it's not essential for community groups and all activity leaders to be safeguarding trained to care for your child and keep them safe from harm.

Safeguarding is everyone’s business. It’s important that you know the checks you can make to help keep your child safe when taking part in these activities.

It’s okay to C.H.E.C.K with the people leading the activity:

  • Are you confident they have the right qualifications to lead the activity?
  • Do they have a history of delivering activities?
  • Are they experienced in running activities for children and young people?
  • Have they undergone any necessary police checks?
  • Do they have a good knowledge of their safeguarding responsibilities?

Find out more and how you can be activities wise at www.bit.ly/CHECKstaffs (link deprecated) or call 0800 1313 126.

Are you an activity leader? Make sure you're safeguarding ready this summer and find out about the training that you can undertake.
