Terms and conditions

  1. Only one project can be submitted per group or society.
  2. Projects can apply for funding up to a maximum of £3,000 for Part one or £5,000 for Part two.
  3. If certain items from an application require to be removed due to eligibility or a Councillor has insufficient funds to offer full support under Part one, the minimum grant that can be offered is £300.
  4. In principle support must be received from all County Councillors named on the application form before submission.
  5. Input VAT reclaimable from HM Revenue and Customs is not eligible for funding.
  6. To receive funding, groups must be properly constituted and not-for-profit.
  7. If you have been successful in previous rounds of funding of this scheme you must have provided the required reporting to the Council to be eligible to reapply.
  8. If the project proposes a change in land management or changes to property this must have written approval of the landowner.
  9. Where relevant it must be demonstrated that the project can be appropriately maintained and funded longer term without reliance on additional unsecured external funding.
  10. Applications for solar panels must be supported by quotes from an MCS Accredited installer. The MCS Certificate must be provided along with the invoice once the work has been completed.
  11. If you feel you have a project that may achieve the outcomes required but are concerned by the restrictions above discuss this with your County Councillor ahead of making the application.
  12. Depending on the nature of your support project, the County Council may need to be assured that you have appropriate safeguarding procedures, appropriate insurance etc.
  13. By accepting a grant, you agree that you will not apply or have secured duplicate funding from other sources. Any match or pooled funding is not considered duplicate funding if the total cost of the eligible items under the Climate Change grant are not exceeded through other funding.
  14. All promotional materials related to the project must acknowledge Staffordshire County Council and the funding received. The Staffordshire County Council logo, available upon request, must be used without modification. Additionally, Staffordshire County Council must be permitted to visit the project or observe project activities upon reasonable request. If any media events are organized to promote the project, the County Councillor must be invited to attend.
  15. By accepting the grant, you agree to submitting a summary of the project within two months of completion. This should be submitted together with invoices to detail spend against the items offered in the grant. Staffordshire County Council reserve the right to produce a case study of the project for publication.
  16. By accepting the grant you agree to information on the project and the funding awarded to be publicly available.
  17. If the project cannot go ahead as planned sustainability@staffordshire.gov.uk must be notified to discuss requirements before proceeding.  If you have already received funding, any element which will not be delivered must be repaid in full within 6 months of receiving the funding unless specifically agreed otherwise. Any spend made for items not agreed by an officer will need to be repaid in full.
  18. Project funding must be spent by 30 June 2025.
