Notice of Adoption of the Joint Waste Local Plan
In accordance with Regulations 26 and 35 of the above, notice is hereby given that the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Joint Waste Local Plan 2010 - 2026 Development Plan Document (The Plan) was adopted by Staffordshire County Council on 15 March 2013 and by Stoke-on-Trent City Council on 21 March 2013.
The Plan provides a strategy to manage waste development in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent for the period up to 2026, setting out where, when and how new waste management facilities will be developed and assessed. It will replace the existing Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Waste Local Plan (1998-2011) in determining waste planning applications.
The Plan was considered by an Independent Inspector at an examination in public held over three days in April and June 2012. The Inspector’s Report was published on 4 February2013 and the adopted Plan incorporates the changes recommended by the Inspector. The Inspector’s Report, The Plan, the Sustainability Appraisal and the submission documents can be viewed during normal opening hours at:

(a) the document is not within the appropriate power;
(b) a procedural requirement has not been complied with.
An application must be made promptly, and in any event, no later than the end of the period of six weeks of starting with the date of the adoption of the Local Plan, i.e. by 16 May 2013.
