Health in All Policies (HiAP) in Staffordshire plan on a page

Plan on a Page

Health in All Policies (HiAP) is an approach to policies, plans and projects that systematically takes into account the health and health inequalities implications of the decisions we make. It includes the impact on factors such our lifestyle choices but targets the key wider determinants of health such as housing, education, income and employment, with the aim of improving the health of the population and reducing inequity.

Tackling health inequalities and the wider determinants is dependent upon health being considered everybody’s business, embedded in all aspects of what a council and its partners do – therefore a Health in all Policies approach.
