Making a payment
Online payments by credit or debit card
Online payments can be accepted for:
- Research carried out at Staffordshire Record Office or the William Salt Library
- Photocopying, microprints, transcripts
- Photography and digital imaging carried out at Staffordshire Record Office on behalf of all our service points
- Tickets for archive service events
- Talks to local societies by archive service staff
- Research, photocopying and photography: only after the work has been completed and you have been notified of the final cost
- Tickets for events: only after we have confirmed ticket availability
- Talks by staff: only after we have confirmed availability of staff to speak
Information for overseas customers
The online payments system does not recognise all formats of postcode (zipcode). So the postcode field in the online payment form is no longer mandatory. If you experience difficulty in completing payment using your postcode, please retry without entering your postcode.
Instructions on making a payment
Go to the online payments website
- Bottom of the page you will see "Make a records office, performing arts or resource centre payment".
- Select the relevant office.
- Select relevant payment from the drop list provided.
- For order which contain a combination they can be added separately (SRO talks & events for payments for tickets or events)
- Reference number: if paying for research or copies please add your order number which you will have from the order notification from us. If paying for event tickets please add the event code from our events programme. If you're paying for a talk, please add the talk code from our list of talks.
- In Name please type in the name as shown on the credit or debit card you are using to make the payment.
- Anything marked with * is mandatory and must be completed.
- Amount - add the amount of your payment
- Enter card details, no spaces for the long card number
- Enter an email address
- Make payment
- Confirmation - please save a copy of your receipt
Payments will be processed the next working day and orders will be sent out once payment has cleared.
If you have problems using our online payments website please contact us by email. We will send you a payment method form and process the payment on your behalf, where the customer is not present.
Other forms of payment
Traditional payment methods apply to :
- Publications ordered by post
- Research carried out at Staffordshire Record Office or the William Salt Library
- Photocopying, microprints, transcripts, photography and microfilming carried out at Staffordshire Record Office or the William Salt Library
- Tickets for talks, events, etc.
UK customers:
payment by cheque or postal order. Postage stamps are not an acceptable form of payment. These should be made payable to "Staffordshire County Council".
Overseas customers:
payment in pounds sterling only by bankers' draft or international money order. These should be made payable to "Staffordshire County Council".
