Businesses are being encouraged to heed government advice on social distancing and take advantage of the help that is available from the county council as lockdown eases.
Staffordshire County Council has advice on offer for businesses to help them with social distancing, where to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE), the Test and Trace system, and how to prevent and manage outbreaks.
The council, together with Public Health England and district and borough council colleagues, is ready to act swiftly to help businesses manage any local outbreaks that do occurs.
Leader of Staffordshire County Council Philip Atkins said:
“While we are looking forwarded to the further easing of lockdown in July, it is important that businesses and their customers play their part in helping prevent a second peak of infections.
“We’re helping our local businesses as much as possible, by giving them advice and access to resources like PPE suppliers, so they can open safely. We can also advise them of what to do if someone in their premises tests positive for COVD-19.”
From July 4 the new rules mean:
The new measures include:
- People should still stay 2 metres apart if they can, but this can be reduced to least 1 metre apart as long as there are mitigations in place.
- Two households will be able to meet inside, in any setting.
- Pubs and restaurants will be re-opened, but limited to table service.
- People will also be able to stay in hotels and on camping and caravan sites.
- Hairdressers will also be able to reopen, so long as there are precautions in place
