Families invited to take part in a mass Covid testing pilot in Tamworth are being reminded to drop off their tests at the special collection points by 7pm this evening. (Friday)
NHS Test and Trace, in partnership with Staffordshire County Council, Tamworth Borough Council and the Royal Mail, targeted around 6,000 households in the Glascote and Stonydelph areas as part of the pilot.
The aim is to help manage cases locally and also to learn more about how the virus in order to make the continuing easing of lockdown restrictions work.
Dr Richard Harling, Staffordshire County Council’s Director for Health and Care, said:
“We have had a fantastic response to the pilot and I would encourage everyone in Glascote and Stonydelph to take the home test if they haven’t done already.
“Some of our collection points are open until 7pm this evening so there is still time for people to play their part in this important pilot.”
The county council is also matching every kit returned to the Sacred Heart Collection point with £1, up to a maximum of £500 - with proceeds going to the Heart of Tamworth Community Food Shop.
