A football club in Stone is hosting a Covid-19 Testing Pop-Up to help people get tested quickly and easily.
The pop-up will kick off at Stone Dominoes Football Club at 10am on Saturday 17 April and will run until 4pm. No booking is required, and people can get a rapid test onsite and then pick up home testing kits to use twice a week.
The county council is encouraging everybody in Staffordshire to get tested regularly even if they have no symptoms and have had their coronavirus vaccine.
Director for Health and Care at Staffordshire County Council, Dr Richard Harling, said:
“Getting tested regularly is the best way to contain the spread of Covid-19 along with following the rules on social distancing and household mixing. Now that more businesses have reopened and people are meeting outdoors again, the virus will have more opportunities to spread and more people could carry it without realising it.
“Getting a rapid test is quick and easy, whether at a testing site or at home, and we’re working to ensure communities have as many opportunities to get tested in their local area as possible.
“It’s great that Stone Dominoes FC are helping with this and I’d encourage anybody local to go down and get a test this weekend.”
Testing for people without symptoms has never been easier in Staffordshire, with a range of community testing sites and pop-ups across the county offering rapid testing options, including testing kits to use a home.
