Staffordshire County Council’s leader has today sent his congratulations to Paralympic gold medallist Sir Lee Pearson.

Sir Lee, from the Staffordshire Moorlands, won his 12th equestrian gold medal yesterday in the Grade II individual test with his horse Breezer.

Staffordshire County Council leader Alan White said:

Sir Lee Pearson has put in another fantastic performance in Tokyo to win his 12th gold medal – an outstanding achievement.

Staffordshire athletes in both the Olympics and Paralympics have really shone in this year’s games and have helped to put the county on the map.

Sir Lee is another inspiration to us all and shows how hard work and determination pay off and can lead to this level of success. We’d like to send our congratulations to him from everyone in Staffordshire.”
