People in Staffordshire have been celebrating again with the news of yet another Olympic medal for swimming superstar Adam Peaty.

Adam was part of the men’s 4x100m medley relay, who took silver in the race in the early hours of Sunday morning at the Tokyo Olympics.

Swimmers Luke Greenbank, James Guy and Duncan Scott made up the quartet.

Alan White, Leader at Staffordshire County Council said that Adam and the team’s silver medal was great news for the country and for Staffordshire.

Alan added:

“We’ve been following Adam’s journey very closely with huge excitement, right back to when he first started his swimming career at the Dove Valley Swimming Club in Uttoxeter.

"It seems like a long time since then but with numerous medals and several world records under his belt, he continues to deliver.

“He’s a real sporting hero and we remain incredibly proud of all his achievements including his latest silver medal.

"We look forward to even more successes in the future.

"Well done again Adam.”
