Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills, Philip White promoting the 30Under30 campaign
With many families facing a rise in the cost of living, the county’s tourism team has put together a handy list of 30 different family friendly places to visit for less than £30.
The #30DaysUnder30Pounds campaign, organised by Enjoy Staffordshire, aims to give families fun days out without breaking the bank.
Whether its excitement and adventure that families are after, or more creative and curious places to visit and explore, the county has something for everyone.
Philip White, Deputy Leader at Staffordshire County Council and Chair of Enjoy Staffordshire said:
“Everyone deserves the chance to escape, and as the UK’s biggest and best playground, Staffordshire is the ideal place to do so.
“We appreciate that for many families, especially with the rising cost of living, finding an affordable day out can be a challenge. This is why we’ve launched our new #30DaysUnder30Pounds campaign. The attractions we’ve highlighted are either free admission, or cost no more than £30 for a family of four to enter. So whether you’re looking for something to do over the August Bank Holiday weekend or during the autumn months and October half term, we’ll have something for you.
“And as well as helping families enjoy days out in Staffordshire, we’re also keen to see more visitors from out of the county taking short breaks here. With our combination of thrilling attractions, welcoming places to stay and inviting pubs and restaurants, you’ll be wondering why you haven’t stayed here before.”
Staffordshire’s tourism sector is a vital part of the county’s overall economy. Worth around £1.8 billion annually, the county attracts around 28 million day or overnight trips each year. Tourism is also the fourth largest sector and supports around 33,000 jobs.
The team’s suggested activities are available across the county, with everything from fantastic museums, castles, heritage steam railways and beautiful country parks to animal attractions.
Explore Staffordshire’s great outdoors from the Peak District in the north of the county to Cannock Chase. Choose from easy family walks and safe off-road cycle routes. More creative families can also get hands-on with some pottery fun. Have a go on a Potter’s wheel, paint & decorate pottery and be inspired by famous designers and makers.
Families are also being reminded about the option to purchase annual passes at many of the county’s key attractions and theme parks. This can be an affordable choice for families planning to visit an attraction on a regular basis.
