A new mobile hub will be travelling around Newcastle and the Moorlands offering people support and advice.
The ‘Here to Help Hub’ is being run by the Newcastle Partnership, which includes Staffordshire County Council, Police, Newcastle Borough Council and others.
The hub will be delivering a range of support and advice to communities most affected by the cost-of-living crisis, and who may also be vulnerable to isolation and Covid-19.
The vehicle will be offering everything from council tax and housing benefit advice, cost of living advice including how to eat well and energy efficiency, as well as health support and even Covid-19 vaccinations.
The hub will also be used by Citizens Advice, so they can deliver advice directly into communities.
Staffordshire County Council Cabinet Member for Communities Victoria Wilson said:
“The Here to Help Hub will be getting right into the heart of communities in Newcastle and the Staffordshire Moorlands, dispensing valuable advice on everything from Covid-19 vaccinations to cost of living.
“As it will be targeting those areas that are most vulnerable to the rise in the cost of living, we can ensure we are helping those most in need and giving them advice and support.”
Sam Hubbard, Head of Generalist and Volunteering Services at Citizens Advice Staffordshire North and Stoke on Trent said: “We're really excited to be part of this partnership, giving people the advice and information they need to find their way forward in their local community.”
