People interested in horror and ghost stories are being invited to visit their libraries for a spooktacular Halloween treat.
A terrifying new horror story written and read by local author A.G. Smith is set for its debut at a number of libraries in South Staffordshire this month.
Since 2009, A.G. Smith’s annual ghost story readings have become an essential date for Staffordshire Libraries, drawing sold out performances that have guaranteed audiences a wonderful evening’s entertainment and left them trembling with fear.
The well renowned author is back with his latest horror story, The Oratory, which is described as a terrifying tale of witchcraft and possession.
Alan who also works for Staffordshire’s prison libraries service said: “It’s always a joy to be returning to Staffordshire to perform readings for audiences in their incredible libraries. I always say that my job is the easy part, I just turn up to read, it’s the dedicated staff in these wonderful libraries who are the unsung heroes of the evening. They work so hard and go above and beyond to make these events so memorable.”
Victoria Wilson, Cabinet Member for Communities and Culture at Staffordshire County Council said: “It’s really exciting to get Alan back in our libraries for another series of shows. His readings have become well known over the years and we have seen audience members scream out loud and leap from their seats in fright.
“I’m sure this new spine chilling story will be better than ever and we’re anticipating the tickets will sell out very quickly, so please book your seats.”
A.G. Smith will be reading at 7:30pm at Wombourne Library on October 13th and Perton Library on the 27th October. Tickets are just £4 per person.(Arrive by 7:15pm for a 7:30pm start)
