The operator has agreed a series of measures, including opening the gates from 6am.
A landfill operator has agreed to increase monitoring of lorries using its site following complaints.
Walleys Quarry Ltd, which operates the landfill site on Cemetery Road, Newcastle, met officers from Staffordshire County Council to discuss criticism that too many HGVs were obstructing roads and laybys in the town while waiting to use the landfill.
Now the operator has agreed a series of measures, including opening the gates from 6am to allow vehicles to queue on site, warning delivery companies not to be anti-social and encouraging people to report examples of poor behaviour.
Officers from Staffordshire County Council and Staffordshire Police will also patrol the area looking for anti-social behaviour and drivers breaking the law.
Alan White, Leader of Staffordshire County Council, said:
The company has expressed a willingness to deal with residents’ concerns about HGVs parking badly in the area while waiting to access the site.
We are working with the police on this matter and officers will patrol the area and take action where necessary.
I hope residents see a change for the better as soon as possible.”
