Staffordshire Moorlands Childrens Centre receives 180 donations of Christmas presents for the children supported by their early help team.
County council-run family hubs across Staffordshire have sleighs full of presents to give to children they support, thanks to kind donations from local organisations.
The Staffordshire Moorlands Childrens Centre, in Biddulph, has received 180 donations to their Christmas toy appeal.
The gifts will be provided to children supported by their Early Help and Safeguarding Children in Care teams.
St Luke’s Primary School in Cannock, Cannock Chase Borough Council and Hidden Warriors CIC have all donated toys to the Cannock Chase Children’s Centre to support vulnerable children in the district.
In addition, the Cannock Chase Knits Together initiative - delivered by ‘Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles – have donated hand knitted children and baby clothes to give to local families in need of them.
The Lichfield Family Hub has also been inundated with gifts including huge gift bags full of toys donated from ‘A Child’s Heart’ charity, Christmas food hampers, and over 250 presents donated from Argos.
Staff at the Tamworth Family Hub created 50 boxes of gifts for local secondary school students from disadvantaged families and they have supported two primary schools to receive funding to have a Christmas party for their pupils.
Cabinet member for communities and culture at SCC, Victoria Wilson, said:
“Many children who are being supported by our Early Help teams will benefit from the spirit of giving this Christmas thanks to the kindness of others.
“The support our family hubs give to people in need across Staffordshire all year round is pivotal to achieving our goal of ensuring every child has the best possible start in life.
“If you also want to help with any donations, please contact your local family hub to see what they need.”
There are eight hubs across Staffordshire that provide a wealth of virtual information, support and advice for local families.
Families can also access a range of services, participate in activities with their young children and find out about local groups at any of the 11 county council run children’s centres.
