The countdown for the 2024-25 Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent Tourism Awards is now on, with just over one week to go before the deadline for entries.

This year’s competition, which is free to enter, closes at midnight on Monday 9th September. There are 20 categories open to any attraction, venue, accommodation business, restaurant, pub, café, or farm shop – as long as they are in Staffordshire or Stoke-on-Trent.

The awards, organised by the Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent LVEP in partnership with Staffordshire University and VisitEngland, offer an opportunity for businesses to get recognition for their commitment and dedication to providing visitors with a great experience, as well as the chance to progress to the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.

Alastair Budd, Chair of the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Local Visitor Economy (LVEP) partnership And senior director of the Trentham Estate is urging businesses to get themselves nominated for an award.

Alastair said:

“We have a thriving tourism economy here in the county and city and a fantastic range of attractions, locations, and things to see and do.  Our aim is to position the area as the largest playground in the UK, and to grow our destination’s worldwide visitor appeal.

“Our annual awards are a great way of promoting tourism and bringing businesses and those people working in them together to celebrate the best of our sector.  I would encourage any company working in the sector, whether large or small to get themselves nominated for an award.”

Philip White, Deputy Leader at Staffordshire County Council said:

“Our annual tourism awards are a great chance to celebrate our amazing county and the businesses and people that make Staffordshire such a wonderful place to stay and visit.  I’d definitely urge businesses to get themselves nominated before the deadline.”

Stoke-on-Trent City Council Leader, Cllr Jane Ashworth said: “The annual tourism awards are a fantastic opportunity to shout about the amazing places we have in the city and wider county. Stoke-on-Trent is thriving with unique tourist attractions, and these awards are the perfect opportunity to showcase that. The deadline is fast approaching, so make sure you get your entry in.”
