Students nervously awaiting their A-Level results are being reminded about the opportunities on offer, no matter what their results are.

The Staffordshire Jobs and Careers website has jobs, training opportunities and access to free 121 support from experts all in one place to help students, even if they have no idea where they are going.

There’s over 10,000 jobs, apprenticeships, work placements and training opportunities all in one place on the website, as well as advice about different careers, and how to get in touch with the Staffordshire Jobs and Careers experts for free 121 help.

Staffordshire County Council Cabinet Member for Education Jonathan Price said:

“To all the students who received their A Level results today, I want to say a huge congratulations. You have worked hard and overcome many challenges to reach this milestone. You should be proud of your achievements and celebrate your success.

"To those who didn't get the results they wanted, don’t worry. There are many paths to success, and you will find the one that suits you best. Our Staffordshire Jobs and Careers website has all of the information and guidance to help them explore and take their next step – whether that’s training, different forms of study including degree-level apprenticeships, or the world of work.”

Jacob Whitby, 28, from Stoke, went straight to university after A-Levels, then joined other school, college and university leavers on work placements arranged by the Staffordshire Jobs and Careers service.

He said:

“I got a 12-week placement, then secured a full-time job and now I’m working as a business support officer that has supported over 250 Staffordshire businesses with grant support to help them grow and achieve their goals.

“I needed some work experience after leaving education, so the placement was perfect to help build up my skills and working alongside the team on some major projects including the West Midlands Interchange.”

“I’d recommend contacting Staffordshire Jobs and Careers to anyone – they really listen to what you think, help you discover your transferable skills and help you to work out the next step. Everyone has the ability to succeed no matter what their results.”
