A £600,000 project to resurface a key junction in Norton Canes has been completed.
For the past few weeks, Staffordshire County Council’s highways crews have been working to resurface the Burntwood Road junction of Brownhills Road.
The whole of the junction has been resurfaced, as well as several sections of footpath. Crews have also repaired gulleys, replaced guard rails and replaced kerbing where needed.
The road is now fully open to traffic.
Cabinet Member for Strategic Highways Mark Deaville said:
"This well-used junction was in need of an upgrade, and the work we have done will see this lasting for 20 to 30 years. Our crews have worked hard to minimise disruption to motorists and nearby residents, and I want to thank them for bearing with us while we carried out these essential works.
“These works are all part of our wider mission to fix more roads in Staffordshire, whether that’s by increasing the amount of potholes we fix, or resurfacing key roads and junctions in the county. Our crews are working hard to upgrade our highways network, and create smoother journeys for everyone.”
