Safety repairs completed in Cheadle

Cllr Mark Deaville

Work on a series of highways safety repairs in Cheadle have been completed.

The work to fix potholes and defects on Tape Street between the two roundabouts/islands and on Well Street and Ashbourne Road was carried out by Staffordshire County Council.

The localised repairs which took three days to complete will help keep the road in a safe condition.  The work is ahead of a major highways improvement scheme to resurface the road planned for next year.

Mark Deaville, Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Strategic Highways said:

"We know how important it is to maintain our road network and to keep road users safe, so it’s great to see this work completed.

“I know only too well how important these repairs are to the people of Cheadle and the surrounding area. I have received numerous comments about the road surface at these roundabouts and I’m really pleased to see the repairs.  Crews were able to get in and out in three days, carrying out most of the work overnight to help reduce any disruption. I am very grateful for people’s co-operation during the works and pass on my thanks to road users, pedestrians and local residents.”
