Staffordshire County Council is calling on young residents to share their views on the future of the county’s transport network.
An online map has been set up to get feedback from young people that will be used to inform the development of the new Local Transport Plan, which will outline the future transport network and the practical steps needed to achieve it.
The county council is keen to understand how young people use transport in their daily lives and gather ideas on how to improve the transport system for the future. By taking part in the online activity, young residents can directly contribute to shaping Staffordshire’s transport future.
Mark Deaville, cabinet member for strategic highways at Staffordshire County Council, said:
“We are committed to creating a transport system that meets the needs of all our residents, including our younger population. Their input is vital in ensuring that our future transport network is efficient, accessible and sustainable.
“The map will help us understand the unique transport challenges faced by young people and identify opportunities for improvement. I’d encourage everyone aged 14-18 to share their thoughts and help us build a transport system that works for everyone.”
Staffordshire County Council plays a crucial role in planning and managing the county’s transport infrastructure. While not directly responsible for all aspects of transport services, the council is dedicated to ensuring that the development of the transport network meets the needs of Staffordshire residents, communities, and businesses.
By combining public input with strategic planning, the county council aims to create a transport network that supports the needs of its residents now and in the future.
