SCC Deputy Leader Philip White celebrating Shire Hall Business Centre’s two year anniversary with its tenant businesses.
Staffordshire County Council’s eight enterprise centres welcomed 46 new businesses to their thriving communities in 2024.
The enterprise centres, strategically located throughout Staffordshire, provide a range of offices, workshops and industrial units designed to support small and start-up businesses to grow.
In 2024 alone, more than 325 local businesses benefited from the centres’ flexible monthly tenancies, affordable rates and access to wider business support.
Many of these business owners have shared their inspiring success stories, from scaling up their operations to finding the perfect environment to focus and grow.
Among them is Rob Mackley, who moved his web design company, Red Box, to Shire Hall Business Centre in Stafford after transitioning his team to remote work during the Covid pandemic.
Rob said:
“We were looking for something flexible and professional with arrangements for meeting rooms as well, so this place really fitted the bill.
“It has been really helpful to work in a place like this with other businesses. Having a professional office space - where you can hot desk or have a small office - just allows you to go after bigger clients because you've got that next level of professionalism.”
Hot desks and meeting rooms are available to book every day at selected centres for anyone needing versatile workspaces.
Philip White, Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills, said:
“Our enterprise centres are at the heart of Staffordshire’s commitment to supporting small businesses.
“We host businesses from a huge range of industries, showcasing the breadth of talent and ambition across the county. It’s a great community and I was so pleased to see 46 new businesses become a part of it last year.
“If you're thinking of starting a business in 2025, I encourage you to explore one of our enterprise centres in Burton, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Cannock, or Stafford.”
