Good luck wishes are being sent to Tamworth FC by Staffordshire County Council’s leader ahead of Sunday’s monumental FA Cup third round tie against Premiership side Tottenham Hotspur.

The Lambs kick off at 12.30pm in the sell-out televised home tie having overcome League One Huddersfield in the first round and Staffordshire rivals Burton Albion in round two. It’s the fourth time Tamworth have reached this stage of the competition.

Staffordshire County Council leader Alan White said: “I’m sure the whole county will be getting behind the Lambs on Sunday in their FA Cup third round tie against Spurs – a massive club with a multi-million-pound squad. They’ll experience more intimate surroundings than they’re used to which brings home the magic of the FA Cup. Tamworth will be representing Staffordshire in what will be a historic day for the club.
“And to national and worldwide television viewers, the team will help to put Tamworth and Staffordshire on the map. After two successive promotions, the Lambs will certainly be relishing the challenge and we hope all involved with the club enjoy the day.
“Everyone at Staffordshire County Council and residents countywide wish them the best of luck.”
