Families looking for fun-filled adventures over the February half term holiday are reminded that there’s plenty on offer in Staffordshire.

Whether it’s a trip to a farm, an animal attraction, a theme park, or a historic garden, the county has ample choice.

At the Alton Towers Resort, visitors can enjoy a nautical adventure where the scallywags, treasure hunts and tales of sea monsters are all part of the fun at the Pirate Takeover.  Families can also tackle the thrilling rides of Frontier Falls, including Gold Rush and The Wave, and the family-friendly attractions of Thomas Land at Drayton Manor Resort.

The Trentham Estate also has lots of half-term fun, from searching for fairies beside the lake and in the gardens, to tackling the maze, and spotting wildlife and the first signs of Spring. Next door, the Trentham Monkey Forest re-opens just in time for half term, giving people the chance to experience the monkeys roaming freely for the first time in 2025.

People can also get up close with the farmyard animals and let off some steam in the huge indoor and outdoor play areas at Lower Drayton Farm, near Penkridge.

At Cannock Chase Forest, families can explore the beautiful woodland, tackle the Pedal and Play beginners mountain bike trail, or let off steam in the brilliant play areas.

Philip White, Deputy Leader at Staffordshire County Council and Cabinet Lead for the Visitor Economy, said:

"Staffordshire's rural charm offers countless outdoor adventures.  From the Peak District in the north, to Cannock Chase in the south, and everything in between, there's something for everyone.

“Whether you're into country parks, mountain biking, historic estates, or play farms, we've got it all.  Plus, our theme parks, museums, and wonderful gardens make us the UK's biggest and best playground.  Whatever the weather and however you choose to explore this half term, do it in Staffordshire and enjoy our amazing attractions.”

Other great half-term activities include making a splash on the flumes at Waterworld in Hanley, hitting the slopes of the Snowdome in Tamworth, and getting your hands dirty at the National Forest Adventure Farm in Burton.  Be creative at a session at World of Wedgwood and walk around a woodland trail at the National Memorial Arboretum.
