A major highways improvements scheme in Newcastle will start on Monday 17 February.
The £100,000 scheme is being carried out by Staffordshire County Council and is part of a wider £50 million investment in the county’s roads over the next three years.
The work on the B5367 Knutton Lane to Silverdale Road Link junction is expected to take around one week to complete, weather permitting. The work will include resurfacing of the road, as well as replacement of damaged kerbs or ironworks.
The road will be closed for a short period for the resurfacing, however, access to properties will be maintained where possible. People living in the area can help crews by avoiding parking vehicles within the works area between 7.30am and 5.00pm
Mark Deaville, Cabinet Member for Strategic Highways at Staffordshire County Council, said:
“Good roads are essential for people and for our local economy, which is why we are investing more than £50 million in highways over the next three years.
“It’s great to see another important scheme get underway. I’m sure the smoother journeys will be welcomed by everyone who uses the road. As always, crews will be doing their best to keep disruption to a minimum and I’d like to thank people in advance for their patience while this important work takes place.”
