Thousands of children and young people in Staffordshire can look forward to an exciting Easter packed with fun activities, thanks to the county’s Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme.

Running from Monday 14 April to Friday 25 April, the programme offers a wide range of activities at venues across Staffordshire, including schools, community centres, and leisure facilities.

Activities include sports, creative clubs, computer sessions, animal care, and horse riding, along with many others. Additionally, there will be sensory and mindfulness activities, as well as confidence-building sessions available.

Bookings are now open for more than 21,000 eligible children and young people aged 5 to 16 who receive free school meals. Eligible participants can book up to four funded sessions, many of which come with a healthy hot meal.

Some clubs are also offering paid places for children and young people. Parents and carers can book either a funded or paid place online.

Councillor Mark Sutton, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People at Staffordshire County Council said:

"We’re delighted to bring back the HAF programme this Easter, providing fantastic experiences for children and young people across Staffordshire.

"Our Easter programme offers a wide range of activities designed for learning, growth, and enjoyment, helping every child make the most of their school holidays.

"Whether they want to try a new hobby, make friends, or simply have fun, there’s something for everyone."

Dana Thompson, aged 11, from Moat Hall Primary School said:

“I loved the arts and crafts – they were really creative, and there were so many different activities to choose from! I also enjoyed making new friends and meeting new people, as well as catching up with my school friends.

“If I hadn’t joined the HAF programme, I’d have just been at home watching TV and probably getting quite bored. I’m really looking forward to going again this year because it’s so much fun and a great place to be.”

With over 100 clubs offering 50,000 activity places, children and young people will be spoilt for choice.
