Staffordshire County Council’s highways crews will be carrying out essential repairs around Cellarhead Crossroads next week.
Work will start on Monday 24 March, when crews will be carrying out resurfacing work at the crossroads, the A52 Kingsley Road and the A520 Leek Road. Crews will also be fixing potholes along with any damaged kerbs and ironworks as required. The work is expected to take around one week to complete.
To make sure the work can be carried out safely, temporary traffic lights will be in operation, along with a number of diversions where required.
On Monday 24 March, the A52 Kingsley Road will be temporarily closed for one day, from the traffic lights to the junction of the A522 Cheadle Road. A diversion will be in place via the A520 Wetley Rocks.
On Tuesday 25 March, the A520 Leek Road from the traffic lights to Shirley’s transport will also be closed for one day, with a diversion in place. Crews will be doing their upmost to get the work done as efficiently as possible, with all other works being carried out under two and three way traffic lights. Access to residents and businesses will be maintained throughout the works where possible.
Mark Deaville, Cabinet Member for Strategic Highways at Staffordshire County Council, explained that investing in highways was essential in keeping the county moving.
Mark said:
“Cellarhead Crossroads is a busy part of the county, with lots of traffic, so it’s great to see these repairs starting. Crews are hoping to keep disruption to a minimum and I’d like to thank people in advance for their co-operation.”
