Who are the sensory team?
Answer:

The Sensory Team are hosted by Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, covering Staffordshire.

The Sensory Team are part of Social Care that assess and support individuals with sensory disabilities (deaf, visual and deafblindness) as part of their identified eligible support needs in line with the Care Act. As a service we follow a strength-based rehabilitation approach to empower people to remain or become as independent as possible in all aspects of their daily lives.

  • Sensory Operational Service Delivery Lead.

  • Rehabilitation Officers for Deaf / Deafblind (ROHI).

  • Rehabilitation Officers for Visual Impairment / Deafblind (ROVI).

  • Apprentice Rehabilitation Officers for Visual Impairment.
  • Assistant Care Act Assessors (Sensory).

There are also trained Level 3 OCN deafblind assessors to undertake Care Act compliant deafblind assessments.
