Answer:

From 1 April 2024 the following key changes will come into effect 

  • LFD testing of asymptomatic individuals being discharged from hospitals to care homes is no longer required, unless a local risk assessment specifies otherwise.
  • The care home LFD test kit order portal will no longer be operational.
  • In the event of a suspected outbreak, UKHSA will advise a care home if PCR testing is required and will support with organising access to testing. 

The guidance has being strengthened to support care home with visiting arrangements.
