Childminder Pre Registration Training
If you are interested in becoming an Ofsted registered, or agency registered childminder please access the Ofsted Pre-registration childminder briefing.
To become an Ofsted registered childminder, you must be able to demonstrate to the regulator (Ofsted) that you have a good understanding of all aspects of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and other relevant legislation.
To support those wishing to become an Ofsted registered childminder the Local Authority offer a funded training.
In addition, check out our new video below made in conjunction with Oopsie Daisy Childcare in Staffordshire.
Training
This session will cover the legal requirements of registration, and includes:
- The rewards and challenges of being a childminder.
- The additional training requirements needed prior to applying to Ofsted.
- The additional Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Partnership training requirements.
- Costs related to setting up a childminding business.
All training and network meetings can now be found and booked on via our brand new Staffordshire Early Years Practitioner Hub.
Most training sessions are delivered virtually via Microsoft Teams.
