Knowledge and skills
Adults in the setting:
- have an adequate knowledge of child development and what age-related expectations are
- are reflective practitioners and are able to identify any training needs they may have
- know who to approach for advice/guidance on areas relating to SEND
- are aware of their own responsibilities in the area of SEND
- use positive feedback to encourage the children’s learning and play
- are aware of any cultural considerations within the community
