Identification - Medical needs

  • Pupils can have persistent minor sensory, physical and medical needs, relating to physical disability or a medical condition requiring an increased level of monitoring that can be met within school resources.

  • The sensory, physical and medical needs could have an impact on the pupil’s learning and/or access to the curriculum. These implications could include:
    • Physical access to the building/classroom and movement around school.

    • Recording work.

    • Attention/memory and other cognitive functions.

    • Speech and language.

    • Fatigue.

    • Social interaction with peers.
