System Checks

The Compliance Team are responsible for ensuring that school contracts are running in line with both legislation and Transport Terms and Conditions. Every Operator who has signed up to work on school contracts have already passed strict checks before they are accepted and once accepted as an Approved Operator, they sign to say that they will adhere to both legislation and the Transport Terms and Conditions.

Spot Checks

Spot Checks are carried out on a regular basis at all Schools SCC provide transport to.

We ensure that vehicles are compliant including (but not limited to) a copy of a Daily Walk around Check, MOT, Tax, Insurance, Taxi or PSV Licence, Livery and Route number on all vehicles.  All Drivers and Passenger Assistants are checked to ensure that they have a valid SCC ID Badge which has been issued by the Transport Unit.  Local Licensing Authorities and the DVSA are invited along to the Spot Checks and can take their own regulatory action.

Awareness Sessions

The Compliance Team run Awareness Sessions both for the Operators, Drivers, and Passenger Assistant.  All Drivers are given a copy of the Drivers Guide and Passenger Assistants (PA) a copy of the Passenger Assistant (PA) Guide which explains their roles and responsibilities. The Awareness Session and guides demonstrate an understanding of how the contracts held with SCC are to be operated. 

Contractors who breach legislation or the Transport Terms and Conditions will be subject to compliance action by the Compliance Team.
