Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

The Staffordshire County Council (Stafford) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2018 (Amendment) No. x/20xx

1.         Staffordshire County Council propose to make a Traffic Regulation Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce restricted parking on Shipston Road, Witney Road and Compton Road; Baswich.

2.         Documents may be examined during office hours at 1 Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2DH and during opening hours at Baswich Library, Lynton Avenue, Baswich, Stafford, ST17 0EA

3.         Objections or representation should be sent in writing to: Strategic Asset and Network Management, Highways, 2 Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2DH or to: trafficregulationorderobjections@staffordshire.gov.uk

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 

The Staffordshire County Council (Stafford) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2018 (Amendment) No. x/20xx 

The Staffordshire County Council  in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124(1)(d) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 ("the Act of 1984") as amended and the Traffic Management Act 2004 ("the 2004 Act") as amended and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984 hereby makes the following Order:- 

1.         This Amendment Order shall come into operation on xx xxxx 20xx and may be cited as The Staffordshire County Council (Stafford) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2018 (Amendment) No. x/20xx

2.          The above Order amends the Plans which form part of The Staffordshire County Council (Stafford) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2018 (Amendment) No. x/20xx by the addition of the Plan marked BB 192 incorporating waiting restrictions at locations specified in the following schedule.

Proposed waiting restrictions at the junction of Witney Road, Compton Road and Shipston Road, Stafford 

Statement of Reason

To promote the safety of highway users and to facilitate the safe passage of vehicles through the junction of Witney Road with Shipston Road and Compton Road including a new bus service to be introduced by restricting waiting within the junction during the hours of operation of the new bus service. 

Proposed Schedule

The effect of the order will be to introduce a prohibition of waiting Monday Saturday between 7am and 7pm in the following locations: 

(i)                  Compton Road

On Compton Road along both the north and south side measured from its junction with Witney Road in a southeasterly direction for an approximate distance of 20.0m

(ii)                 Shipston Road

On Shipston Road along both the north and south side measured from its junction with Witney Road in a northwesterly direction for an approximate distance of 23.0m

(iii)               Witney Road 

On Witney Road along the east and west side for an approximate distance of 50.0m in a northerly direction measured from a point approximately 9.0m south of the junction with Shipston Road
