Experimental Order 2024

  1. Staffordshire County Council on 04 June 2024 made an Experimental Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce the following:
    • ‘Permit Holders Parking Only’ on Monday to Sunday inclusive on Trent Lane and Main Road, Great Haywood.
    • No Waiting at Any Time on Trent Lane and Main Road, Great Haywood.
  2. Documents may be examined during office hours at 1 Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2DH and during opening hours at Stafford Library, Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford.
  3. The Order will commence on 10 June 2024 and will continue in force for up to 18 months.
  4. The Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be continued indefinitely. Representations and objections against the Order being continued indefinitely should be sent in writing to: Highway Maintenance and Network Management, Third Floor, Staffordshire Place 1, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2DH or to trafficregulationorderobjections@staffordshire.gov.uk within six months of the Order or modification to the Order coming into operation, quoting reference HoCPS/TM/TR4/24 and stating the grounds on which they are made.

Experimental Order 2024

The Staffordshire County Council (“The Council”) in exercise of its powers under Sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“The 1984 Act”) and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to The 1984 Act, herby makes the following Order:-

  1. In this order:
    1. “Traffic Manager” has the same meaning as in Section 17 of the Traffic Management Act 2004
  2. Under Section 10(2) of The 1984 Act, the Traffic Manager of The Council or a person authorised by that officer, may modify or suspend the operation of the Experimental Order or any provision of it if it appears essential for any of the reasons stated in that Section.
  3. No Person shall cause or permit any vehicle to park on Trent Lane and Main Road, Great Haywood on Monday to Sunday inclusive, except in marked bays whilst displaying a relevant current Permit:
  4. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to wait at any time on Trent Lane and Main Road, Great Haywood.
  5. This Order may be cited as the Staffordshire County Council (Trent Lane and Main Road, Great Haywood) (Proposed Permit Parking Only and No Waiting at Any Time) Experimental Order 2024 and shall come into operation on 10 June 2024 for a period not exceeding 18 months.
