Staffordshire County Council (Lightwood Road and Cocknage Road, Rough Close)
(30 mph speed limit) order 2024
- Staffordshire County Council on 9th April 2024 made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that imposed a 30 mph speed limit on Lightwood Road and Cocknage Road, Rough Close.
- This order will revoke the 40mph on Lightwood Road insofar as it relates to this order.
- Documents may be examined during office hours at 1 Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2DH and during opening hours at Blythe Bridge Library, Uttoxeter Road, Blythe Bridge, Stoke-on-Trent or on our website.
- Persons questioning the validity or provisions of the order on the grounds that such powers are not conferred by the act, or that any requirement or instrument made under the act has not been complied with, may within 6 weeks from the date the order was made apply to the high court.
The order will commence on 17 April 2024

Staffordshire County Council (Lightwood Road and Cocknage Road, Rough Close)
(30 mph speed limit) order 2024.
The Staffordshire County Council ("The council") in exercise of its powers under sections 84(1) and (2) and part iv of schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("The act") and all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with part iii of schedule 9 to the act, hereby makes the following order:-
- No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 30 mph on the lengths of roads specified in the schedule to this order.
- No speed limit imposed by this order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the road traffic exemptions (special forces) (variation and amendment) regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those regulations.
- This order will revoke the 40mph on Lightwood Road insofar as it relates to this order.
- This order may be cited as the Staffordshire County Council (Lightwood Road and Cocknage Road, Rough Close) (30 mph speed limit) order 2024 and shall come into operation on 17th day of April 2024.

A5005 Lightwood Road, Rough Close (Stoke-on-Trent City Council) - Starting from the boundary of Staffordshire / Stoke-on-Trent City Council, heading in a northerly direction for a distance of approximately 90m, to the existing termination of the 40mph speed limit.
A5005 Lightwood Road, Rough Close (Staffordshire County Council) - Starting from the Staffordshire / Stoke-on-Trent City Council boundary, heading in a southernly direction to the junction with a520 Windmill Hill, a distance of approximately 385m.
D2118 Cocknage Road, Rough Close - starting from the junction with Lightwood Road, heading in a westerly direction for a distance of approximately 48m.
