Green Homes Grant – Local Authority Delivery Scheme (GHG LAD)
Why we collect data
Staffordshire County Council will process your personal information in order support the delivery and administration of the Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery scheme (GHG LAD). The scheme is operated by Midlands Energy Hub (MEH) (Nottingham City Council) and delivered by E.ON and Beat the Cold. The funding is provided by the Government Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
What data we collect
Customers:
- Your full name
- Your contact details
- The address and details of property receiving the GHG LAD installation(s)
- Details about the GHG LAD installation(s) installed at the property, including type, size and cost
- Your contact address (if not the property receiving the GHG LAD installation(s))
- Address and details of property offered, but not receiving, the GHG LAD installation(s)
- Household income and any other scheme eligibility information
- Any financial contribution you have made towards the GHG LAD installation(s)
- Details about the expected energy, carbon and cost savings expected to be delivered by the installation, including pre- and post-installation property EPC details where appropriate

Eligibility Assessments:
You may be contacted by our Charity Partner, Beat the Cold, in order to assess eligibility for the Green Homes Grant Scheme. If contacted, Beat the Cold will ask to see evidence of:
- Household income and any other scheme eligibility information
This information is required to assess eligibility and ensure scheme compliance.
How we will use your data:
Your personal data will be used to:
- Support the delivery and administration of the Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery scheme.
- Monitor and report on the progress of the scheme
- For fraud prevention purposes.
Our Lawful Basis for processing your personal data is Public Task.
How we will share your data
We will share data with:
- E.ON and their installers to assess your eligibility to participate in the scheme and install agreed products
- Beat the Cold for related advice on heating and energy bills
- The Midlands Energy Hub To evaluate and report to central government bodies such as the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (“BEIS”) in connection with the delivery of the Scheme.
- The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and its contractors for delivery, administration and evaluation of the scheme, statistical, research and fraud prevention purposes.
- Ofgem and delivery partners of central and local government home energy schemes such as the Energy Company Obligation and Renewable Heat Incentive
Your personal data may also be shared with other Government departments where necessary to identify duplicate or fraudulent grant claims under other schemes.
We will share your data if we are required to do so by law, for example by court order or to prevent fraud or other crime.
How we look after your data
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, have a legal duty to protect any information that we hold about you. We take measures to safeguard your data and apply security standards and controls to prevent any unauthorised access to it. Information which you have provided the council will be stored securely. It will only be used for the purpose(s) stated when the information was collected and will only be keep for the minimum amount of time required. How long will the Council retain the data for?
The information that you have provided will be kept for the period that you are involved in the Scheme and for up to ten years from you no longer being involved in the Scheme. Note that BEIS will retain personal data for up to 25 years from the date that you are no longer involved in the Scheme.
