Get Help After Storm Henk Flooding
Residents and businesses affected by Storm Henk floods between 2 – 12 January 2024, may qualify for the Property Flood Resilience grant.
Property Flood Resilience Repair Grant Scheme
Residents and businesses can apply for up to £5,000 (including VAT) per property to make properties more flood resilient and to allow them to recover more quickly from future flooding.
Staffordshire County Council has access to approved suppliers who can carry out surveys and installation work. Alternatively if works have already been undertaken it may be possible to reimburse eligible costs up to the maximum allowance.

The deadline to submit an Expression of Interest is 30 June 2024. We will endeavour to respond to any Expressions of Interest within 10 working days of this date.
By completing this Expression of Interest you are not committing to having works completed.
Eligibility Criteria
The grant is available to residential and business owners where the habitable living or business area of the properties have been damaged by entry of flood water, necessitating drying out and/or repairs to the fabric of the building.
The grant is available to improve the flood resilience of a property; it is not compensation for flood damage, nor is it to be used for speculative work. It is for improvements to a property to reduce future flood damage. Only fully completed works that improve the flood resilience of a property will be reimbursed.
Next Steps
Once eligibility is confirmed, we will arrange for a survey to be completed. This will identify things such as where the flooding came from, and the best Property Flood Resilience measures to prevent or limit re-occurrence.
When the survey is complete your agreement will be sought prior to installation of recommended measures.
