Helping others
If you would like to offer help to people, here are some ways that you can get involved in supporting your community.
Volunteer
Volunteering can make a huge difference to people, and you too.
It’s proven that volunteering regularly really adds to people’s mental wellbeing. It’s also a great way to have new experiences, meet new people and learn new skills.
If you want help finding volunteering opportunities, Support Staffordshire and Staffordshire’s Council of Voluntary Youth Service are two great organisations that can help you.
Donate food and essentials
Local supermarkets often have collection points that you can drop off items to go to local food banks. See in stores for details.
Food banks will each have their own donation systems and a list of the items they need most.
Find local food banks on our Staffordshire Connects Directory pages.
Donate I.T. equipment
We've partnered with the Community Foundation for Staffordshire to help children, older people and people with a disability get online.
If you've got a laptop or tablet you no longer need, you can drop it at one of the donation points in libraries across Staffordshire.
Devices are refurbished and then used to help people in our communities who need it most.
