Assess - Hearing impairment

  • Assessment of language and listening development should be carried out by the school with support from the Teacher of the Deaf (TOD). If standardised testing is used it should be carried out using assessments valid for use with hearing impaired pupils.

  • It would be beneficial to develop support through a One Plan including advice from relevant professionals such as TOD, Speech and Language Therapists, Educational Psychologist, Health etc.
