More about Chasewater Country Park:

Gateway to the Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the north and linked to Sutton Park in the south, Chasewater Country Park is an important ‘stepping stone’, connecting wildlife and habitats across the wider landscape. Much of the country park is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). This means it is nationally important and protected for its open water, wet and dry lowland heath and wetland habitats. Today, Chasewater is known as a place for recreation, relaxation and nature, but not so long ago it was at the heart of the local mines and industry that once thrived in this area. The reservoir and railway at Chasewater serve as a reminder of a proud industrial past
