Draft Notice and Order

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

The Staffordshire County Council (East Staffordshire) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2020 (Amendment)No. x/20xx

1. Staffordshire County Council propose to make a Traffic Regulation Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce No Waiting at Any Time on St Matthews Street, Burton upon Trent.

2. Documents may be examined during office hours at 1 Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2DH and during opening hours at Burton Library, Riverside, Burton upon Trent, DE14 1AH

3. Objections or representations should be sent in writing to: Highway Maintenance and Network Management, Third Floor, Staffordshire Place 1, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2DH not later than 04/09/2024 quoting reference TR9/24 and stating the grounds on which they are made.

The Staffordshire County Council (East Staffordshire) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2020 (Amendment)No. x/20xx

The Staffordshire County Council in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124(1)(d) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 ("the Act of 1984") as amended and the Traffic Management Act 2004 ("the 2004 Act") as amended and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984 hereby makes the following Order:-

1. This Amendment Order shall come into operation on ........ 20** and may be cited as The Staffordshire County Council (East Staffordshire) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2020 (Amendment)No. x/20xx

2. The above Order amends the Plans marked DI 195 and DI 196, incorporating waiting restrictions at locations specified in the Schedule to this Order and which form part of the Staffordshire County Council (East Staffordshire) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order and in substitution thereof.

Schedule

St Matthews Street, Burton upon Trent

On the north side of St Matthews Street, starting from the end of the existing No waiting at any time restrictions heading south east around the cul de sac and ending at the boundary between no 2 St Matthews street and pumping station.

The Common Seal of the Staffordshire County Council was hereunto affixed day of xxxx 20xx in the presence of :-

Statement of reasons

St Matthews Street is heavily congested with parked cars on both sides of the residential street and on the footway. The restrictions will allow for safe passage of traffic and clear the footways from parked vehicles which would make it safer for pedestrians.
