50 MPH Speed Limit Order 2024
- Staffordshire County Council on 07/05/2024 made a Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that imposed a 50 mph speed limit on A34 Stone Road, Yarlet (Stafford).

- Persons questioning the validity or provisions of the Order on the grounds that such powers are not conferred by the Act, or that any requirement or instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, may within 6 weeks from the date the Order was made apply to the High Court.
- The Order will commence on 10/05/2024

50 MPH Speed Limit Order 2024
The Staffordshire County Council ("the Council") in exercise of its powers under Sections 84(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 ("the Act") and all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby makes the following Order:-
- No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 50 mph on the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this Order.
- No speed limit imposed by this Order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.
- This Order may be cited as the Staffordshire County Council (A34 Stone Road, Yarlet (Stafford)) (50 mph Speed Limit) Order 2024 and shall come into operation on 10 day of May 2024.
Schedule
A34 Stone Road, Yarlet (Stafford) – Southbound carriageway - from a point approximately 500 metres north of the junction with William Bagnall Drive, in a northerly direction for a distance of approximately 370 metres.
A34 Stone Road, Yarlet (Stafford) – Northbound carriageway - from a point approximately 150 metres north of the junction with William Bagnall Drive, in a northerly direction for a distance of approximately 720 metres.
