Ref: Staffordshire Police and Crime Panel - confirmation hearing - proposed appointment of Emma Barnett to the post of temporary Chief Constable for Staffordshire

Dear Chairman,

Thank you for your letter dated 23 June 2021 recommending the appointment of Mrs Emma Barnett to the role of temporary Chief Constable, following the Police, Fire and Crime Panel’s confirmation hearing on the 21 June 2021.

I am pleased that the panel recognised the suitability, qualifications and relevant experience that Mrs Barnett will bring to the role of temporary Chief Constable.

As you are aware, work is already underway for the recruitment to this post and I am confident that Mrs Barnett will provide the continuity and leadership required during this period. I will of course keep you updated on the progress of this.
